Expert and Compassionate Pelvic Health Physical Therapy

We are a Physical Therapy Clinic Specializing in the Treatment of Pelvic Health Issues.

SERVING SAN DIEGO COUNTY

We help people find lasting relief from pelvic pain, urinary and bowel symptoms, pregnancy and postpartum challenges, pain with sexual intercourse, cancer recovery, surgery, and much more.

At Source, we understand that pelvic health challenges can feel emotional, sensitive, and difficult to discuss. To treat and support our patients, we have created a calm, tranquil, and private space and offer 60-minute appointments in which licensed Physical Therapists focus one-on-one, moving at a pace that feels healing for the individual. We value the patient’s individuality and invest time to understand their concerns, goals, and unique experience.

Our Approach

We believe that healing requires an integrated approach that respects the physical, psycho-emotional, and energetic body, and uses evidence- based practices for best outcomes. We have a comprehensive approach that takes the entire kinetic chain of the physical body into consideration. It’s a poetic examination of how the pelvis functions and moves within the greater context of the whole body.

Pilates and yoga are woven into healing and strengthening exercises. Breath-work is utilized for somatic awareness of the pelvic floor muscles and the relaxation of the nervous system. Body based practices are combined with the most current, evidenced based medicine and tailored to the unique individual with the goal of truly embodying the art of physical medicine.

The Experience at Source Pelvic Health

  • We work directly with patients one-on-one for an hour, instead of transitioning them to an Aide.

Treatment is in a quiet, private room instead of a loud, open gym.

Consistency of care is ensured through working with the same PT at each appointment and not a different PT or Aide.

  • We are Doctors of Physical Therapy who specialize in Pelvic Health and have completed years of advanced training in our specialty. Pelvic Health is not an ‘after-thought’ or addition to other services.

We have a sophisticated knowledge of manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, and progressive strengthening of the pelvic floor muscles in different positions and in coordination with different muscle groups. You will not just be doing ‘Kegels’ and using a biofeedback machine.

  • Your whole person is considered in the setting of pelvic healing and wellness— the biomechanical, psycho-emotional, energetic body, and lifestyle habits—not just the physical body.

  • We listen to your priorities and goals for treatment and wellness instead of establishing goals based on what your provider or insurance carrier prioritize.

Scheduling is easy and direct, and you have the ability to communicate with the clinic owner directly. We aren’t a large corporate or hospital-based clinic with long hold times or virtual schedulers.

  • We are trained and experienced in ‘trauma-informed care,’ meaning we provide a safe, healing experience for those who are seeking pelvic care and may have experienced any degree of trauma. Without this training and experience, the patient cannot be adequately supported, and the healing process will be fractured.

With the lived experience of pregnancy, childbirth, and other pelvic floor challenges, we ourselves have undergone pelvic floor physical therapy for healing. We understand what it feels like to have pelvic floor issues.

  • “Nora is an outstanding therapist. I am so impressed with her knowledge, level of care and professionalism. I saw her for prehab prior to a hysterectomy. She helped me prepare for what was ahead. She was so calm and reassuring. I am going to start going back this week for my post operative therapy and I'm confident Nora will be super helpful to my recovery.”

  • "Dr. Nora has helped me navigate pelvic pain and prepare and recover from laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis, and I can't recommend her enough. She is extremely knowledgeable, caring and compassionate, and has made me feel comfortable through the pelvic PT process. She takes her time and is extremely thorough, and makes sure I am always feeling comfortable. She's helped me feel more empowered in managing my endo, and helped me resolve pain.
