Nora Vince DPT, PRPC
Hi, I’m a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) and Pelvic Health specialist.
I’m passionate about Pelvic Health, and I consider my profession as a Pelvic Health PT to be a privilege.
I know first-hand that pelvic health challenges can cause feelings of overwhelm, confusion, hopelessness, embarrassment, and more.
When I work with patients, it’s my goal to empower them through education about their bodies and symptoms. I want them to feel heard, understood, and able to relax knowing they are in trusted hands so that they can focus on the process of healing. I identify and treat the source of the symptoms to create lasting health and resilience in the body and get patients back to doing what they love.
I was inspired to go into pelvic health twelve years ago when a loved one was suffering from chronic pelvic pain. It was affecting all aspects of his life; he was in constant pain and always had the urge to urinate. He was shuffled through the medical system, subjected to multiple prostate exams, and prescribed rounds of antibiotics. No one had an explanation for his symptoms, and his despair grew deep.
Eventually, I encouraged him to see a Pelvic Health Physical Therapist. After the initial evaluation, my loved one had an explanation for the symptoms he was experiencing. After several visits, he started feeling relief, and, within some months, he was able to resume life pain-free. Through this experience, I realized the power of effective pelvic health PT to restore a patient’s function and hope.
I had my own journey with pelvic challenges after the birth of my oldest son. Being a patient gave me an embodied understanding of these challenges and reinforced the importance of effective and compassionate pelvic health PT.
I’ve spent the last six years of my career working as a Pelvic Health PT at UCSD in La Jolla, where I became experienced treating complex pelvic pain and dysfunction. Before that I worked at a private practice clinic in Los Angeles, where I integrated pilates exercise and equipment into the rehab process. I live in Encinitas with my husband, two sons, and our dog, Huxley. Besides being a mama and PT, I love playing in the ocean, doing pilates, walking Huxley, and reading.
